Cruz is a third grader in Austin, TX who has developed an intense passion for soccer over the past two years. After playing off and on in recreational YMCA programs for a year, he joined a competitive team in 2022 after joining Lonestar SC when the team managers moved him from recreational play to a Junior Academy team within his first day. By the end of the first year, he was invited to play at the Junior Elite level for Lonestar SC. We made a family decision to change leagues and Cruz has now been playing for FC Westlake's Junior Academy on the Junior Elite team for his age group. He was also invited to train with the 2014 Elite team. Cruz has raw talent, intense passion, and an incredible focus on improving his game. He spends hours outside practicing on his own accord. He would be out there all day, every day, and gets frustrated when forced inside to eat and sleep! His progress in such a short period of time leaves us excited to see what the future holds for him.
