Soccer Youth has made exposure for players even more accessible by adding customizable player profiles to their website. The addition of this section allows for all players that attend and participate in Soccer Youth events to edit their profile with media that can generate a larger audience. The player profile section of Soccer Youth’s website has been added before the start of the 2023 campaign so that all those who participate in events this summer gain an opportunity to have their player profile generated for them.
Player profiles are generated by Soccer Youth after an event. The profiles on the website include the player’s name, a picture, and some basic information such as home state and club. Soccer Youth also provides a player ranking on a player’s profile, which stems from an evaluation session and ranking at a Soccer Youth event. If a player attends more than one event, that player’s best evaluation will be used for their player profile.
Also included in a player’s profile is a useful tool for quick reference, Soccer Youth’s Player Card. These player cards have a similar layout to EA Sports’ FIFA Cards, in which someone can look at the card and get a quick understanding of that player’s strengths. With six different skill tests during the Player Card Combine at each Soccer Youth event, players get a rating in each category of pace, power, passing, dribbling, agility, and shooting. A scaled rating system is used to determine the score for each player based on birth year and gender, and the average of those scores calculates each player’s overall. The player’s overall rating can receive a boost based on their performance at the event as well, which is determined by the aforementioned ranking system.
Everyone who attends a Soccer Youth event will get a free player profile added to the website. The free profile will include what is listed above – the general information and picture of a player, the player’s ranking, and the player’s personalized card. As well as the above information, each player will have their awards and achievements at Soccer Youth events added to their profile, as well as a short player bio and links to social media pages.
Soccer Youth does have a subscription-based membership that allows for additional customization of a profile. With a supercharged profile, players have the capability to upload videos and a photo gallery, as well as an extended player bio area, personal and club achievements, comments from coaches, and more.
