Gabriella Olivares

Gabriella has a true passion and love for soccer, and a love and commitment to self-improvement. She dedicates time outside of team practice to individual workouts and skill training, and looks for opportunities to hone and practice her skills. She has been playing since she was 4-years-old and aspires to play throughout childhood and into adulthood. She is positive, confident, tough, compassionate, and tenacious. She is versatile and has much experience playing multiple positions on the field. While Gabriella's primary position is forward, she is skilled at playing multiple offensive positions (i.e. forward or wing) as well as defensive positions (i.e. central defender or fullback). She is not only passionate about soccer, but she is a very skilled soccer player as well. Gabriella maintains technical efficiency under pressure and maintains composure under movement of the ball, movement of the body with ball control, opponents, and perpetual drive throughout an entire game. She passes with precision, excellent ball control, and has a high level of endurance. She not only demonstrates the ability to play for the game's duration, but also recovers quickly while working in the game. Gabriella is fast with good perception and quick reactions during the game, and she demonstrates static balance to resist challenge and dynamic balance (agility) to maintain control of her body while moving with or without the ball. She has thorough knowledge of the game - she understands offense and defensive roles on the field and can execute both. She demonstrates keen awareness on the field, knowing where she is as her position relates to the location of the ball, her teammates, and opponents. Gabriella continually assesses her options so that when she receives the ball, she knows where to play it most effectively. She demonstrates instinctive reaction while on the field - when she's on defense, she knows how far and how fast to retreat or how quickly to challenge in order to avert danger. When she's playing an offensive position, she knows how and where to run to create passing or shooting opportunities for herself and her teammates. Gabriella is also adaptable and can adapt quickly to any given situation. She is impactful on the field and affects the nature of the game from her positions on the field. She is a team player, passing the ball to teammates and assisting with goals, and compassion for others. She is also a leader and helps other players improve and become better. She helps to motivate and inspire the team toward winning by leading by example and fostering unity among her teammates. Gabriella is disciplined and has respect for the game and the rules. She demonstrates grit and the mental capacity to take losses with stride. Her mental strength enables her to bounce back from losses and setbacks. In addition to being a diligent soccer player, Gabriella is a high achieving student at school. She maintains high grades and honor roll status every quarter, while being involved in leadership, on-campus clubs, and volunteer activities at school. She meets her academic goals consistently and maintains a high GPA. Gabriella is a hardworking, resilient, focused, and talented soccer player who has a true love for the game. She is committed to growth and continual improvement with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
